Lakefront Haze - Chicago Painting

$350.00

12in × 16in

This painting captures a quiet stretch along the Chicago Lakefront on a hazy summer day. Across the water, the city begins to fade becoming less defined as they meet the pale sky. Along the shoreline, groups and individuals gather, while the waves break against the concrete edge in the foreground.

I was drawn to the contrast between Chicago’s dense architecture and the openness of Lake Michigan - the feeling of being in the city while, for a moment, feeling removed from it.

Painted in acrylic with loose, layered brushwork, and glazing. Lakefront Haze focuses less on a precise depiction of the skyline and more on the changing light, atmosphere, and feeling of being there.
